There appear to be railway sidings here to the south of the road bridge taking Kenton Lane over the Stanmore branch line railway.
I would imagine that these were temporary sidings transporting building materials for the large scale housing construction taking place in the vicinity at this time.
The original Belmont Station was situated to the north of the bridge and was opened in the September of the year this photograph was taken. The original construction was that of a basic wooden halt. It was replaced by a more substantial construction in 1937. '
