As a child I spent many happy hours sitting on the grass watching and listening to the entertainment. If we were sitting on the gassy banks outside the perimeter of the theatre, we would be occasionally accosted by a member of staff who'd walk round with a box taking cash contributions from those of us too tight to pay for admission! '
