' A CONCRETE FLACK TOWER- IT WAS BUILT AROUND 1942 TO PROTECT MARCONIS WIRELESS FACTORY AND HOFFMANS BALL BEARING FACTORY DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR. IT HAD A BOFORS ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUN ON TOP AND THE AMMUNITION WAS STORED UNDERNEATH. IT WAS DEMOLISHED IN THE MID 1980'S MAYBE TO MAKE WAY FOR THE CHELMER VALLEY ROUTE. '
