' This stream enters a culvert here. Built with granite blocks a set of steps carries the stream to the culvert about 4 feet in diameter blocked by a set of bars to prevent entry. There is as we dicovered a severe bend in the last bar on the right hand side which allowed us entry.A few feet in ,under Elmbridge road another culvert about 5 feet in diameter enters a large chamber from the right. Leaving immediately opposite is a large 6 foot diameter culvert which emerged on the allotment site roughly where I have marked.This was extended to what is now Fairlop Waters about 1960. '
