To the right of this point the railway line is now a path. The line runs to the left to Preston Station (the next station to the left used to be Deepdale). The line was the Preston and Longridge Railway, later the Fleetwood, Preston and West Riding Junction Railway. This line closed to passengers in 1930 but continued as a goods line to 1980.
