Some further info: This was originally The Southall Brick And Terracotta works. Presumably why the cut in from the canal called Durdan's Dock was here. Also, amazingly there was a car factory here at the later Site of the Vulcan Iron & Metal Works. The car was an Eric Campbell around 1924.

I remember this park as having a paddling pool. In this photo it looks like a small lake!

The 'lake' shown is where the playground is. The pool was at the other end. Old maps show this larger lake; and a smaller one at the end of Durdans Dock, where the paddling pool was.

Cranleigh Gardens Paddling Pool 1962. The green slope at the back was originally steps, but proved too dangerous.
