Some further info: This was originally The Southall Brick And Terracotta works. Presumably why the cut in from the canal called Durdan's Dock was here. Also, amazingly there was a car factory here at the later Site of the Vulcan Iron & Metal Works. The car was an Eric Campbell around 1924. |

I remember this park as having a paddling pool. In this photo it looks like a small lake! |

The 'lake' shown is where the playground is. The pool was at the other end. Old maps show this larger lake; and a smaller one at the end of Durdans Dock, where the paddling pool was. |

Cranleigh Gardens Paddling Pool 1962. The green slope at the back was originally steps, but proved too dangerous. |
