The position of this image is incorrect, dont know what the NGR would be but the Lat & Long of the Stephenson Works is 54.543133 -1.537637, load up Google Earth and run the historic imagery back to 1946 |

The works was situated to the east of the East Coast Main Line south of Thompson Street East. Most of the road network still exists. The official Grid Reference location needs to be changed. |

After about an hours research I can confirm that the official map reference for this photo needs adjustment. 430025 516660 is about right. |
