Seamen's Bethel
Built in 1836 and restored later in the century
Used as a mission hall for seamen and during (I think) first world war the organ was taken for ammunitions. A floor was added on the second level over the hall to enable packing of parachutes (see image taken in 1950's depicting hall prior to new floor - already the pulpit and organ had been removed) |

There appears to be some sort of event going on - lots of people on the harbour arm and a line of rowing boats appears to be forming up between the harbour arm and the submarine jetty. |
