Interesting to see the old Exchange building on the old Market Square (centre), as it was in 1925 that the Council agreed a contract for the demolition of this and several properties around to enable the construction of the fine new Council House, opened in 1929 and still a symbol of Nottingham today. The market stalls show that a market was still being held in the square at this date. |
