West Ham greyhound track. In June 1944 it was marshalling area T4 for troops assembling for the D-Day landings. On the 4/5th June the 69th Field Regt Royal Artillery (49th West Riding Division, the Polar Bears) were located here preparing their vehicles, carrying out stage B.I waterproofing in preparation for the move to the Embarkation Area in the docks. |
