This lagoon was part of the original excavations for the mill in the 1920s; probably a gravel pit for aggregate. In the mill water system the pit was used to pre-settle river water for use in the process. Steam crane on edge was still occasionally used in 1980s for engineering duties on the water system.

East Mill - the original part of the Mill built in 1920s In 1946 there were 5 machines here. 1&2 were built for Newsprint in 1922 but during the later 1920s the importance of this grade declined and packaging (Kraft) grades took over.

West Mill - in 1946 four machines - 9 - 12 making 9 - Newsprint 10- 12 Machine Glazed papers for envelope and wrapping
