The old Court House where my grandfather was a Justice of the Peace in the late fifties. He went on to become Provost in 19 61 but sadly died after only three weeks in office. He is the only provost not to have his picture on display at Colzium House.

The Police Station. I can remember some of the officers stationed here among them Dereck Needham who went on to join the sub aqua unit

Alex Dunn the carrier had his first yard here and also later a shed across the road. He is listed in the 1881 census as living at Market Square.

I lived in Market Square for 2 years when my husband was stationed there as a Probationer Constable in January 1968. The Inspector was James Izatt, Sergeants were John Campbell, Innes Rose and Sandy Archibald. The Police cars in those days consisted of Morris 1000s. There was also a big dark blue van.
