Surely this is the 'Caronia', launched Oct 1947 and putting the Dec 1947 photo date into question.

Fairly sure this is the 'Suffolk ferry, a train ferry, built for LNER Co. She was in service by Sept 1947 and this would put the Dec 1947 photo date in question.

Clyde Cement Works: a clinker grinding plant operated by Tunnel 1933-1967. The clinker mainly came by sea from West Thurrock.
