My grandfather grew up Bollinholme on the left and the woman he married grew up in Bryancliffe on the right. This photograph was taken a year after my great grandfather died, his other son went to the Great war from this house and didn't return.

Mill lade, feeding Wilmslow corn mill. Now buried under the link road between the A34 and Manchester Road. The only remaining easily identifiable evidence of the lade is the small bridge, which carried the lade under Wilmslow Park South.

Two pairs of lines lead to the right. The top two lines are going to Styal and then Manchester Piccadilly. Added to allow fast trains to bypass Stockport the line is now used mostly for trains to the new Manchester Airport station. The bottom two lines are going to Cheadle Hulme, Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly. The two pairs of lines will join together again at Ardwick Junction.
