 The "New Dock " Railway swing bridge crossing point, over the canal, part of the branch line from Tuffley. ( Eastgate ) To the right the railway ran through a deep cutting curving round to eventually meet the dockside sidings . To the left it went under Bristol road,served a siding at the chemical works on the other side, and also a siding to the gasworks, before going on to the Tuffley junction with the mainline into Gloucester. |

Shows: * Gloucester barracks in front of prison complex * numerous Westgate St and other buildings since lost to shire hall building * glimpses of buildings once forming setting of st Mary de lode church * lost buildings in the since widened priory street * reverse angle of numerous building enfronting the quay * docks, greater blackfriars area and beyond ( wagon works ) tightly packed with industrial buildings |
