Spillers built a large new roller flour mill on the Tyne in the 1930s; it probably replaced these buildings

Spillers was founded by Joel Spiller in Bridgwater, Somerset in 1929. He ran a small steam-powered grain mill there in the 1830s. Bakers was a firm of Bristol flour millers. The two companies merged in the late nineteenth century. Spillers by that time had large roller flour mills at Cardiff's docks
