You're right about the building being a former engine shed. However, the branch was built during WW1 around the perimeter of the aerodrome (which existed before the war) and on to the Edgware Road. It's purpose was to connect the various aircraft production facilities that sprang up in the area during WW1 with the Midland main line. It was abandoned soon after the end of hostilities. |
