Stafford Branch Canal / River Sow Navigation. The picture shows where the former Branch Canal channel from the Lock joined the River Sow. Working boats would have turned left (west) and followed the River Sow to the head of the Navigation at the Coal Wharf by Green Bridge in the centre of Stafford.
