The Gallenkamp Technico works is the partly white one in the middle of the three. The company was founded in 1883 and had it's head offices in Sun Street London EC, then to a new building (1950's ?) in Christopher Street London EC.

They were world famous for supplying laboratory equipment, including glassware, kilns, autoclaves,to full lab fitting- out.

I don't know when this building was first used by Gallenkamp, but it was in use during WW2, and in fact took over part of Maybery's (Aluminium casting/fabrications)factory (on the right) for extra space for "War-work"

In 1978 or 9 the company was taken over by Fisons PLC and asset stripped due to Fison's financial problems with failed Hay-fever drugs ... within 2 years Fisons closed the company and made all staff redundant.

The factory on the left of Gallenkamps was then "John Bell, Hill & Lucas. They made medical supplies ... dressings, plasters, bandages etc. This company folded I think in the late 1960's and became "Dylon" cloth dying products, and remained so until a few years ago. It is now being demolished for re-development.

The series of long buildings over the road from Gallenkamps, Maybery's and JB,H& L, was the "SELTEC" Technical College.

I don't know who owned the factory units upper left, but in the early 1960's it was "Rank Cintel" ... part of the Rank organisation, and I think they made copier equipment.
