During the demise of the textile trade this mill briefly became a factory making Bairds TVs. I think they later expanded towards the other side of the road and my mother worked there briefly. I think that went bust eventually as another home grown British industry went down the pan?

Gaythorne Street, part of which was rebuilt at the Bradford Industrial Museum. Sadly, the interiors at the museum have been furnished by people with little grasp of the limited disposable income and crowded living of people in Bradford's 'tunnel' back-to-backs,

Hall and one classroom to Bell School. Formerly the Bell Chapel (of ease). The parish church, St John's was to have been built here but there were old coal mines in the vicinity.

Right about the old mines. Whilst at the school in about 1963, a mine shaft opened up in the car park between the entrance and the boiler house to the old Bell Chapel. Needless to say, us boys were not allowed to go and have a look down it. I also recall soon after, a test boring machine was brought into the Tide Field drill core samples - we were told that was connected to the mines as the field later became a housing estate.
