Fantastic picture of Kenilworth Castle, even before they developed the Elizabethan gardens at the back of the keep! I spent many hot summer days running around the ruins and watching my first battle re-enactments! I saw the Battle of Bosworth fought when I was 7. A knight in Henry Tudor’s Army came up to me, knelt at my feet and said ‘my lady may you grant me a favour so I may have luck in battle’ I was utterly non-plussed and was nudged by my mum to give him my hair bobble! He wrapped it round his hilt and headed off to join the line. I was very pleased to see him survive the battle on the winning side!
