Hatherleigh, London Road, previously known as Parkside, appeared in local directories from 1876 and was

renamed in 1895. Occupants included a French-born tailor named Theobald Cocquerel, and his large family, in

the 1890s, and a Captain and Mrs Clipperton a decade later, both of whom are buried in St Lawrence churchyard.
