They are Plane trees, my wife live in this road, Ashburnham road in 1950/ 60's and confirm, so can I. Her house is just out of the picture and can confirm the school in shot was her Primary school. Railway line is Nth London line which ran from Broad Street station in City of London to Richmond. Nearest station was Kensal Rise to this photo. |

Sorry to pour "Cold Water" on the claim, but the large building in the photo is not Kensal Rise Library. It is Princess Frederica school at the junction of College Road & Purves Road. In fact, the Library can be made out to the upper right of the steam from the train. |
