This is a photo taken looking South East from above the River Taff with Pontypridd Golf Course in the foreground. The reservoir on the golf course enabled this identification to be made. We are looking down the ridge between the Taff and Aber valleys. The Pontypridd to Caerphilly railway line can be seen. We may just be able to make out Caerphilly Castle in the distance. I judge the photo to have been taken at Map Reference ST 07946 91200. I suggest that the Gwaelodygarth description is misleading and should be changed. |
