This suspension bridge has since been demolished. Perhaps it was used by pedestrians while Telford's suspension bridge was still used by road traffic

Suspension bridge designed by Thomas Telford carrying his trunk road to Holyhead over the River Conwy. It is now used by pedestrians and a newer road bridge has since been built alongside

The wrought iron tubular bridge carrying the railway to Holyhead. The bridge was designed by William Fairbairn and constructed by Robert Stephenson. It was the prototype for the much larger original Britannia Bridge crossing of the Menai Strait, destroyed by fire in 1970.
