Three vessels were built for the Irish Sea crossing from Holyhead after World War I - the Cambria, completed in 1921, the Scotia, completed in the same year, and the Hibernia. They were twin-funnelled vessels and looked similar to the two seen in this shot. [Source: Richard Danielson, Railway Ships and Packet Ports, Twelveheads Press, 2007, 22-23] |
