This area of Merthyr Tydfil was known as Keir Hardie Estate although I find it quite difficult to find much documentary evidence of this fact. I have dug out a copy of the Merthyr Tydfil Corporation Omnibus Department Time Tables dated March 1974 and I attach a copy of the page showing the relevant timetable.

I never knew anyone who came from Ysgubor Newydd which was not a name in common use in the 1960's. People from this area said they came from Twyn which is a shortened form of Twynyrodyn.
