I have managed an Asphalt Plant on this site since 1996.the wall which runs behind our plant is on the photos ,by the way it is starting to collapse not bad after 80-90 years |

Floating Gunpowder Magazine 'Swallow'. Ex-RN Gunboat 'HMS Swallow' built 1868, paid off by the Navy c1889 and hulked. In position on the River Mersey by 1890/1. Scrapped c1949. |

Magazine Village - built 1852 to house Gunpowder Workers on the 'Floating Gunpowder Magazines' moored offshore.
Demolished 1970/71, as the Magazines had gone out of use just after WW2.
No trace remains. |
