| Allotments, now the site of Monkwearmouth School. When I was a pupil there 1970-77 the dressing rooms under the stage used to flood as it was a flood plain and they were below ground level. People never learn! |

| Now Fulwell allotments re-sited from the previous position North of Mere Knolls cemetery as seen in photo. Monkwearmouth School was built on the allotments despite it being a flood plain. |

Dad had an allotment here, when they moved from the bottom of Mere Knolls Rd. (until the scallywags from Southwick burnt his sheds down). Happy Days |

This is the Sunderland Volunteer Life Brigade Building. I was a member in the 70's along with Joe Patterson and Alan white. The "Coastguard Station" was in Featherstone St. as it is correctly tagged. |
