TRENCH HALL
Trench Hall was built in the late 1800′s and was home to wealthy farm land owners.
Vacant for a number of years, in 1940 the school for Jewish children escaped from Germany, set up by Anna Essinger moved here for a short period from Bunce Court, Kent. Jewish emigration from Germany was banned in 1941. The school returned to Bunce Court in 1946.
Meanwhile at Trench Hall...1949 to 1990 it was a boarding school (Trench Hall School) A day school 1990-2003.
In 2003 it became The Woodlands Centre / Woodlands School. |

Farmhouse. Early C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed with painted brick infill on painted chamfered Grinshill stone plinth; C19 painted brick additions; plain tile roof. Original house of 4 framed bays.
Late C19 additions to left under same roof pitch painted black and white in imitation of timber frame with lower painted brick addition to far left. |
