There is much local debate as to which bridge is Cow Bridge & which one is Chicken Bridge. The Ampthill route rail bridge is I believe, the proper Cow Bridge. However, whenever a double decker gets decapitated, the local papers call the Kempston route "Cow Bridge". Cowbridge Cottage, (MK45 3JA) is the remains of Kempston & Elstow Halt, a small railway station on the Varsity Line. This is where the original "Cow Bridge", an old road bridge over the Elstow brook was situated. I guess the name was adapted to the railway bridge.

Isn't Cow Bridge the low railway bridge on Elstow Road, Kempston, near the bottom of Spring Road?
