Old Well Head, a 17th century house occupied by several prominent local families, including the Waterhouses. Demolished in 1975.

Well Head Fields. This open area (in the 19th century) close to the town centre, was the source of Halifax's drinking water which came from natural springs in this area. Eventually (again still 19th century) the water was carried into the town by way of wooden troughs and later by wooden pipes.

Royal Halifax Infirmary. Opened in July 1896 by the Duke & Duchess of York (later to become King George V and Queen Mary). On the smae day they also opened the Borough Market in Halifax Town Centre. The old Royal Infirmary building is still there (2013) but is now converted into residential apartments after the hospital moved to the new Calderdale Royal Hospital in 2001.

Field belonging to Conway's Nurseries and used for growing their plants. They had a retail shop in Commercial Street in the middle of Halifax. In the 1950s, they sold this area to Halifax Corporation and it became a playing field for Heath Grammar School on the opposite side of Free School Lane. Nowadays (2013) it is the site of modern residential building.

Formerly Heath Grammar School.Founded in 1600 as 'The Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth'. Now a training centre for teachers and other local authority professionals.
