Royal Halifax Infirmary. Opened in July 1896 by the Duke & Duchess of York (later to become King George V and Queen Mary). On the smae day they also opened the Borough Market in Halifax Town Centre.
The old Royal Infirmary building is still there (2013) but is now converted into residential apartments after the hospital moved to the new Calderdale Royal Hospital in 2001. '
