The Nicholson War Memorial. From a BBC news item today (20th August 2014)the council have agreed to alter the times of the clock chiming so as not to disturb the guests in a nearby Premier Inn that was the former Talbot pub. For more details on the memorial, see www.ukniwm.org.uk/server/show/conMemorial.13742/fromUkniwmSearch/1.

This large monument is not only a memorial to Lieutenant Nicholson who died in WW1, but also to the men of Leek who died in both world wars.
