The Llandogger Trow inn, famous for its connection with R L Stevenson's 'Treasure Island'. The author is thought to have met the castaway Alexander Selkirk here. The inn suffered damage in a German bombing raid in World War II, but largely survives. Its name relates to the nearby Welsh Back section of the Floating Harbour, where Welsh boats would trade. Trows were sailing barges used on the river Severn and Bristol Channel |
