The Twitchell...running from Bar Lane to Basford Road or High Street as it was called when this picture was taken.Not now in use.Used by hundreds of children as a short cut...one way to Whitemoor School,and the other way to Ellis and Guildford Schools. |

The route of old Bar Lane in the 1920s...it takes a left turn and comes out on Nuthall Road opposite the library.The old track is still there.In the thirties the new road was built straight down to Nuthall Road opposite Melbourne Road. |

The factory is possibly Saxbys dying and bleaching which was on Bar Lane Basford the two rectangular buildings in the top right hand corner are the Ellis and Guildford schools. |
