This shot shows The Horsefair going diagonally across from bottom left and at a point five inches across stood a bulding known as Selwyn House which was later demolished to allow the construction of the Plaza Cinema which was built by J.R Deacon of Lichfield and opened on November 12th 1934.The Proprietor was George Egbert Deeming whose Brother was proprietor of The Picture House Cannock from 1932-1938. Today the Plaza is a Wetherspoons Pub and still retains that thirties Art Deco Touch. |
