The buildings shown were built by the Manchester regiment for WW1 training, and used for slum relief housing in the 1920s & 30s. The White Heather Camp was behind these huts. Huts later used by the RAF as part of their occupation of the park for Aircrew Training in WW2. Site later used by Manchester Corporation for prefabs for post WW2 housing, along with another site off Bury Old Rd. |

These are the "Hutments", an Army Training Camp used in the first world war. The White Heather Camp was located behind these huts. |
