East Street Primitive Methodist Chapel. Originally constructed in the late 19th century,it became Carmel Methodist Church in 1932. After World War 2 the gatherings began to dwindle until finally in 1948 the church closed & the buildings sold off. A housing development now stands on the site.

The Bethel Church, Union Street. Dating from 1879, the original Bethel is the much smaller building just behind the image in the picture. In 1909 a 'new' Bethel was opened, much closer to the road. This church survived both wars & is still very much in use today - the only church that remains in the village.

Bridgtown Social Club. One of the last few drinking venues in the village. Originally a working mans club, the venue has one of the finest bowling greens in the area.

For many years this was the site of Burgess Brothers cash bag factory. My mother worked here during the 1960s - 70s & the workforce was 90% female. Finally shutting up shop in the 1980s, the building remains the same but is now owned by Buckley's Loft Conversion company

Park Street Methodist Church. The last service was held in 1965 and the building became a factory. It was finally demolished in 1987
