The Buck & Dog. This pub was demolished and replaced by a Barclays Bank in the 1980s. The original carved stone entrance was retained in the new building on what is now known as Percy Street.

Lancashire Bridge, at the foot of Lancashire Hill descending from the left. No longer visible as a bridge as the river has been fully covered over on both sides. The old pre-1974 County of Lancashire was on the left (Northern) bank of the river and the County of Cheshire was on the right bank (South). As the Town of Stockport grew to extend on both sides of the river, some parts were legally in Lancashire and some in Cheshire. Churches on the North side answered to the Bishop of Manchester (or Salford if RC) and to the South, to the Bishop of Chester (or Shrewsbury if RC). In 1974 Stockport became part of "Greater Manchester".

Union Bridge (pedestrian). The former roadways at each side have been renamed as part of the 1960's shopping centre redevelopment, but remain known as Union Road. This whole area between Lancashire Bridge and Mersey Bridge has now been fully covered over and a shopping centre placed on top.
