Westminster Street. Birthplace of George Formby

Central Station, terminus of branch from Glazebrook on the CLC Manchester Central-Liverpool Central line. The CLC was a joint operation of the Great Northern, Great Central & Midland companies but the GN had no involvement in this branch and the MR later opted out, leaving the line in purely GC hands until the creation of the LNER.

Notice there isn't a war memorial yet.Only eighteen months or so since the end of the Great war.
