My wife and I ran it from 2008 - 2011. The Pubco who own it charge impossible rent so no-one can afford to stay there for long now. Since ourselves, no-one has managed more than two months! Such a shame for such a wonderful, historic pub. |

As a child in the 60's I lived in 13 Brook Street, Howley and when playing in the street I always knew the time - I only had to look up to the clock on the Parish church! Attending the Parocial school we had a close connection to the church. I never did find out if there was a tunnel under Church Street connecting the church and Oliver Cromwell's 'house'!! |
