Area known as Egremont Sidings. It was also proposed to build a passenger station at Oak dale Rd, which never happened. These sidings are now the location of the toll booths for Mersey Tunnel, opened 1971 after the railways closure.

Yes - looks like it - Beaufort Road was very wide at this point - with a 2 track dock railway on the far side - the wide road in the middle - then a tramline too.
