Bradford Pit.Coal has been extracted from this area since the 1600's.

This was a branch canal which led to a coal pit,when I was young in the 1950's the canal was disused and full of reeds.

The Ashton Canal- which apart from Ashton New Road and Clayton Lane is the only thing recognisable in this area today. That's not to say it's much better.
