Trolleybus on route 653 to Aldgate. Of the 5 routes which ran along the Seven Sisters Road from Manor House this was the only route to traverse Amhurst park. The 653 was unusual in that it ran from Tottenham Court Road, in a rather circuitous way to Aldgate, via Hampstead Road to Camden Town, Camden Road to Nags Head, Seven Sisters Road through Manor House, Amhurst Park to Stamford Hill, Upper and Lower Clapton Road through Hackney, Mare Street Cambridge Heath Road, and finally along Whitechapel Road to Aldgate. |
