Butterley Company private line to Butterley Works at Ripley which went under the Midland line, possibly filled in under the main line by this time, hard to be sure from the photos. This line used (or re-used) the line of a spur from the Cromford Canal which used to enter the works here.

From the movement of the 8F on a coal empties train heading north crossing from the fast lines to the slow lines the photos are in reverse order, 12276 is the first photo and 12265 is the last with the plane circling anti-clockwise twice
