| Old pit bonks before the "Rec" was laid out. The 58-acre site was bought by West Bromwich Corporation in 1922, levelled by unemployed labour and opened as playing fields in 1926.

The chemical works are those of Robinson Brothers Ltd. Dating from 1869, Robinson Brothers are to-day a manufacturer of fine organic chemicals. |
