This actually shows the former Tin Works in Pontyclun with the main railway line to Swansea shown in the centre.The railway line at bottom left is the old Cowbridge line which closed in the 1960s.

The photograph shows the main line from Cardiff[to the right] to West Wales [to the left].The line from top right to bottom left is the former Llantrisant Station to Cowbridge line which closed in the 1960s.IN THE CENTRE ARE THE STACKS AND BUILDINGS OF THE ELY TIN WORKS WHICH CLOSED IN THE 1930S AS A RESULT OF THE MC Cauley tariffs from the USA.On the right is the Llantrisant Steam Joinery and on the very right is River Row now long demolished.The area is now mainly housing and small industries.

Llantrisant engine shed Great Western Railway and Ely Valley Junction. Llantrisant Station is out of shot to the right. Station closed and is now reopened as Pontyclun station.

Ely Valley Junction near Llantrisant Station now reopened as Pontyclun Station on the South Wales Main Line. Previously unlocated.

Site is near Pontyclun. Railway line is the South Wales Main Line at Ely Valley Junction.Llantrisant Station was to the East of the photo. This station is now known as Pontyclun to confuse everybody.
