I attended this school in the early 1950's. It looked much as it does here, apart I think from tennis courts which were then when it was a school. The school was moved from Croydon in S. London during the War I believe, and it was a school for girls from 10 to 18 and was mainly for Catholic children. There were not many more than 100 students if I remember correctly and the Head Mistress was Miss Ethel Allen, who after the death of Miss Gooch, was head on her own. Other teachers I remember were Miss Allen, Mrs. Good, Miss Nightingale. |

Hi Susan - I also went to St Peter's in the 50s/60s until it moved to Bredenbury in Herefordshire. Glad to see it is still standing - I believe it was hospital in the 1st World War but cannot find that record. Was there a Chapel attached to the School? |
