1935 is very early for this church. Scottish Churches site agrees with The Scottish Episcopal Year Book for 1966/7 that the church was consecrated and opened for worship in 1938. I believe sites which give a later date are mistaken. Architect Sir M Ochterlony. So entirely possible that the tower was there by the time it was opened. It sounds as if the whole plan was not completed, presumeably due to lack of funds. |
